How to Boost Your Social Media Engagement

Why companies should be featured on social media

Don’t you think you are not a classic expression and it is true when it comes to social media. No matter what company or industry you operate in, it is incredibly important to be featured on social media.

Did you know that 83% of all internet users in 2018 use social media which is 2 percentage points more than 2017, of which 63% stated that they use social media daily.

The myth that only young people use the internet is like a blown away, the trend shows that more and more from older generations are searching for the different social channels. According to statistics, daily use of Facebook between the ages of 12 – 35 years decreases, while those aged 35 and up increase daily use of Facebook.

Analyze your target audience and create engagement

What do you know about your target market today? The more information you have about your target audience, the better you can customize your content.

Can you gather information about your target audience? Gender, age, demographics, geography, etc. What behavior do they have? In what channel are they active?

Whether you want to increase your sales, increase brand awareness or get more leads, it is important to know your target audience and what channel (s) your target audience is in. Most people judge and measure success in social media by the number of followers.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with having many followers, but it is even more important to have a committed follower scale. Having a dedicated audience is more valuable than thousands of followers who don’t care what you post.

But remember, it takes time to create engagement, you first need to build trust with your followers and learn what kind of content interests them. Once you’ve done that, it’s easier to create content that engages your audience and what they care about.

Photos or video?

Video has become more and more popular on social media and the trend indicates that it will continue.

Video draws attention and it is easier to stick out with a short video than to have people read a long text with information. With a short video you can say what you want in seconds. The statistics show that you increase the conversion rate and the engagement rate if you use moving material.

Video also creates more engagement and you can also use the Live features to engage your followers. When you broadcast live, your followers are notified that you are broadcasting live and can ask questions during the broadcast and you can communicate live with your followers. Sending live is a good choice when, for example, launching a new product, are at an event or why not from the office?

Create interesting content and use hashtags

Plan your content in Social media, you have planned to post 4 posts a week so do it. Try to stay within a certain time frame as your followers may expect you to post at a certain time.

Look at how your competitors are doing in social media. What works for them? What do they do well and what do they do less well?

Include your followers and try to get them engaged with your posts, feel free to ask questions, or encourage them to comment.

Did you know that posts with at least one #hashtag get more engagement than one post without? Do your research and see what hashtags are out there that are relevant to you? You may want to create a new one for your business? Don’t use too many hashtags, but find the ones that are most relevant to you and your business to reach your target audience.

Work with influencers

Influencer Marketing has received a significant boost in recent years and companies are now beginning to understand the importance of including influencers in their marketing. Of course, this is not the right strategy for all companies, but if you have a product or service that you want to reach out to a niche target group, this is a good alternative. The number of followers the influencer has not played a huge role, but it may be smarter to use a smaller influencer who has a niche following crowd that is exactly the target group you want to reach.

Influencers often already have a great deal of trust in their followers where the followers listen and take in what the influencer says.

Include your staff

Let your followers get to know the people behind the company, people gain greater confidence in a company when they get a picture of the people who work there and how they work. A good start can be small interviews with the employees you publish on social media and the followers get to know the people behind the company better.

Also, be sure to include your employees so they follow your social media, like and share your posts to reach a wider audience.

Hop on or create your own trends

Surveillance daily to see what people are talking about right now and see what trends are being created. Is the trend relevant to you?

Catching new trends can create fun content and engage your audience, or why not create your own trends?

Finally, I would like to remind you that it takes time to build trust and commitment with your followers. Dare to test again and again until you feel that you have found your niche and what works for you and your target audience. Test different channels and different types of content to see which channel and content works best for you.
