What is a Proxy Server? What you Should Know

What is a Proxy Server? A proxy server acts as an intermediary between your computer or wireless device and the Internet. It makes requests to websites, different servers, and applications on the web for you. Often this is done for free using a free proxy server for WIFI (Wireless Internet Connection).

What is a Virtual Private Network?

A VPN is also known as a virtual private network. This is a group of computers or devices that are within the same physical network but have been partitioned. Within a VPN the computers can be networked or set up as if they are on their own private network. Many providers define a VPN as any computer or other device that has a static IP address and associated security features. The purpose of a VPN is to establish an invisible connection to a specific application or resource on a remote computer.

Why use a proxy server? As a WIFI provider, you want to be able to provide your customers with the best possible browsing experience so why not allow them to surf anonymously or at least have the ability to browse securely. What about keeping your employees secure while they are online? Well, with a proxy server, you can configure the software to block certain websites that could potentially be exploited. Also, you may want to block any websites that have sensitive information posted such as social security and credit card numbers.

How do proxy servers work?

The way a proxy server works is quite simple actually. When clients make requests to web servers they are asked to provide their IP address (which identifies them) along with an anonymous proxy server to mask their IP address. This proxy server acts just like a normal web browser. Instead of requesting information from a URL, it requests data from the IP address and passes the requested information on to the client.

So, when your client connects to your website, all he/she sees is the page they were originally connected to. If they want to visit a new site, they simply log in to the anonymous proxy server and bypass all of the traffic on that original URL. This allows them to visit the site they wanted to visit without worrying about being tracked back or having their IP address revealed. This is called high anonymity proxy service.

How do reverse proxies help me?

With this type of service, there are several benefits. One of the main benefits is that it helps people to bypass commonly used forms of filtering. For instance, common blocking methods for websites include ‘page filtering’, ‘web proxy’, and others.

These types of services allow you to visit sites you would otherwise be prohibited from visiting. For instance, if you go to a famous video-sharing website, but the server only accepts certain IP addresses. By using a distorting proxy, you can bypass this type of filtering and visit any video site you want. Another benefit is that it allows you to surf anonymously while at the same time protecting your IP address from being traced back. So, even though you’re surfing the web, nobody will know who is behind the computer you’re using.

To sum it up, transparent proxies and IP address masking technologies are both useful. You can use them to protect your privacy while still enjoying the conveniences of the internet. If you’re thinking of getting one of these services, make sure to choose a company that has a good reputation. You should also make sure to get one with affordable fees and unlimited bandwidth. Most importantly, test out the website before you sign up.
